Apostle Prof. Onyinah Advises Youth to Use Social Media to improve Their Lives

A former President of Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah has called on the youth to use social media to improve their lives.

Apostle Onyinah said things were very difficult during his youthful days because one had to learn and go the extra mile to do things or get certain information. Comparing those days to now, he said the global technological advancement has brought effective ways of communicating diverse issues and the youth must make use of it.

Social Media

Speaking to Change Agent Media in an interview, Apostle Onyinah said it is the mandate of Christians to spread the gospel of salvation and urged them to work hard to fulfil it through using social media.

“Use Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other social networks to share and broadcast Jesus Christ to the world and avoid patronising and propagating non-Christian activities on these networks,” he said.

Apostle Onyinah who is also the immediate past Chairman of Pentecost encouraged the youth to shine and brighten any corner they find themselves.

Sharing with the youth the benefits of the internet, he urged them to acquire more knowledge with the use of internet to add value to their lives.

“The youth should go to the internet and read a lot, because the world is now at our door step, hence we need to take advantage of it,” Apostle noted.

He urged the youth of the country to remember their creator and serve Him diligently, while employing social media to do a lot of evangelism in order to win more souls for Christ.

Even though the internet and social media has positive impact on the youth, Apostle Onyinah who is a member of the National Peace Council (NPC) said the contemporary youth has a lot of challenges because of the connection of technology.

“The youth are exposed to things that instigate the society negatively, therefore they should tap into the best of modern technologies and advance on it to learn new things rather than to tap into negativities,” the man of God advised.

Law abiding Youth

Touching on the role of religious leaders in affecting the lives of the youth , Apostle Onyinah urged them to educate their members especially the youth to be law abiding and respect authorities in the country.

He indicated that, religious leaders should use their pulpit to educate members on social issues to contribute to national development.

The retired Apostle urged government to consult religious leaders on their policies so that they would be well informed to educate their members well enough on these policies to facilitate smooth implementation.
