Mr. Felix Kojo Addo
Let me tell you a story about a young man who set out to make a difference in the society. In our part of the world, if somebody is to make a difference then he or she probably wants to be ‘acclaimed’ a hero or heroine. Most people would want to wait to have excess before thinking of investing in the community. Can you blame them though, when we live in an era where ‘our right hand sees what our left hand does’ and vice versa.
This was however not the case of Felix Kojo Addo popularly known as Speaker Addo – an affable young man who did not wait to have in excess before influencing change in the society. Yes you read that right, he gave his all when he had none. He started from a small dream to the reality of great achievements.
Mr. Addo attended Adonten Senior Secondary School in the Eastern Region and continued to Signal Broadcast Institute and Empire School of Broadcast Journalism where he obtained Certificate in Radio and Television Production and a Diploma in Broadcast Journalism respectively.
This is a story in recognition of a Creative Thinker. Realising that to help another we need passion and determination, he swerved the naysayers to take an initiative with likeminded people that came to be called the Voice of Change (V.O.C) Initiative. It was started on the campus of the African University College of Communications where Mr. Addo graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Strategic Communication.
VOC Initiative is a campaign of group of passion driven youth whose main aim is Talent and Skills development. The Initiative strives to developing youth potentials that would inure to the benefit of nations.
Through this initiative, he has created a friendly and sustainable accountability platform to stimulate dialogue for change in youth involvement in governance processes at the community and district level.
He has been involved in lots of societal change programs, has been a panel on various educational programs on Television and Radio and on Social media platforms. He has helped several youth to help them discover and maximise their potential.
As an aspiring legislator, he is passionate about education; building the capacity of the youth, and developing his community, therefore over the years, through VOC he has Supported children’s education as individual by providing students in deprived communities with learning materials, and train some youth in acquiring skills to take leadership roles so they could bring the change they would want to see.
Most of his ideas are geared towards national issues.Mr. Addo believes that, if the youth are properly trained, prepared and motivated, they could become real engine of progress.
Mr. Addo is a Social Commentator, A Master of Ceremony and Public Relations person. He’s married and enjoys reading, mentoring and Public Speaking.
